Green light to the law of the single USB type C charger
Due to the evolution of the technology, the governments worldwide agreed last year that all the new electronic devices (mobile phones, tablets and laptops) manufactured after January 1, 2023 must have integrated USB type C instead of USB type A.
In addition, Directive 2022/2380 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union establishes that Member States must apply the mandatory nature of the USB type C port as a universal charger as of December 28, 2024.
However, during the next 3-4 years, USB type A and type C will live together until the old devices stop working, so this is our responsibility to provide the USB charging for both options, type A and type C, to grant the possibility to end users to use both and to avoid our products becoming obsolete.
