Office Snapshots is a blog dedicated to output the best examples of contemporary office design. Spaces seeking outline new approaches to the work.

"It all started when i saw the Google headquarters. I started looking for more designs office but did not find a place that makes a good collection of these spaces, so i decided to create it myself ", says Stephen Searer, who has since 2007 scouring the net looking for the most modern and unique workplaces in the world.

Searer  says he is fascinated by the dynamics that can be generated at the office thanks to good design. "Putting together a group of strangers in a room to do a job and see how some parts work better than others for making great products is something very interesting. Office design is a very important tool to achieve this".

After several years betting on the open-plan offices, Searer says it is producing a reevaluation of how to project workspaces. "I think designers with more broadmindedness are changing completely the diaphanous environment for more complex structures like a city. The funny thing is that just when all companies have been encouraged to make open offices is becoming something from the past".

Although telework is eliminating or reducing the need to build large offices, Searer thinks that there is still a long journey for these workspaces. "New generations thrive on connections with their peers. They want to work or be part of a company with a culture that has meaning, more difficult to achieve when a person works at home or in a cafe".

That does not mean that telecommuting does not continue to increase as a career option. "The technology has evolved to make it not only possible, but in many cases, be preferable. The Employees appreciate the flexibility it provides while companies benefit from having less rental costs".
